KD Ippon is a Shotokan Karate dojo led by Sensei Risto Kiiskilä, 6th Dan, originally from Lahti, Finland. Training since 1970, Kiiskilä studied under renowned masters including Shinzuke Takano, Ochi Sensei, and Yasukazu Murai, and competed internationally, earning titles such as Vice World Champion in Tokyo (1977) and three-time German Champion. His experience includes training in Japan’s Takushoku University and South Africa, as well as serving as coach and advisor in Germany. Today, he teaches under the Japan Karate Association (JKA), offering classes for youth and adults in Germany, Finland, and Estonia. The dojo emphasizes traditional Shotokan values of discipline, kihon, and kumite, while fostering personal growth and excellence.
