The Balintawak Eskrima Concept was established on January 1, 2010, by brothers Oliver and René Reitz, who have over 20 years of experience in Filipino martial arts and various other martial arts. The name 'Balintawak' refers to the style founded by Grandmaster Ancion Venancio Bacon. The Reitz brothers learned directly from GM Toni Veeck for over 20 years, who was a student of GM Arnulfo Mongcal, one of the top five students of Anciong Venancio Bacon. The term 'Eskrima' comes from the Spanish word 'esgrima,' meaning 'fencing.' The English word 'Concept' refers to the technical concepts implemented in this martial art. The dojo focuses on teaching the Balintawak style of Eskrima.
