Matsunoki Karate Koln

Matsunoki Karate in Cologne was founded by Stefan Boigk in 2014 after decades of martial arts experience. Rooted in traditional Karate practice, the school emphasizes discipline, self-discovery, and personal growth beyond physical training. The name Matsunoki (“pine tree”) comes from a Japanese poem symbolizing resilience through hardship. Classes focus on form, self-discipline, and developing both body and mind, offering students tools for life as well as martial skill. Boigk, along with instructors Vitali Volkov and Dirk Degenhardt, brings deep expertise in Karate, Aiki Jutsu, and Reiki. Matsunoki Karate provides a space where students of all ages can train, test their limits, and cultivate character in a supportive environment.
