Katori Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu

The dojo, Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu, is a martial arts school that teaches Japanese sword fighting, known as Kenjutsu. This style of martial arts is closely related to modern Kendô and focuses on developing techniques to gain an advantage over other fighters. Unlike Kendô, Kenjutsu trains in a more realistic and dynamic way, with a focus on mastering techniques rather than character development. The dojo trains in a specific style called Tenshin shôden katori shintô ryû, which is the oldest unaltered martial art in Japan. This style was founded by Iizasa Chôisai Ienao, a renowned samurai, and includes techniques such as Iaijutsu, Bôjutsu, and Naginatajutsu.
