Wado Shin Kai

Wado Shin Kai Dresden is a karate organization that started training in Dresden-Striesen in 1989. The dojo is now located at the Sportinsel Gruna, directly adjacent to the Zwinglistraße shopping passage. The style of karate practiced is WadoKai (Kono Style), a variant of Wado-Ryu, which follows the tradition of Hanshi Teruo Kono. Kono was a student of Ōtsuka Hironori, the founder of the Wado Ryu style. Wado Ryu is characterized by the unique ability to redirect and deflect an opponent's energy, allowing for a more effective counterattack. Karate, in general, is an ideal way to balance out the demands of everyday life, improving physical and mental abilities through training in strength, endurance, speed, and flexibility, as well as through relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, and meditation.
