Takemusu Aikido Jena

Takemusu Aiki Dojo Jena is a traditional Iwama Ryu Aikido school that grew out of university sports courses at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. With a strong student presence, the dojo is dynamic and open to newcomers each semester, offering beginner classes that often inspire long-term practice. Since 2005, training has focused on Takemusu Iwama Ryu Aikido, incorporating weapons practice such as jo and bokken, while remaining open to exchange with other styles. Over the years, instructors and practitioners from diverse backgrounds have enriched the dojo, fostering a culture of discipline, exploration, and community. The school emphasizes Aikido as a lifelong path of growth, blending tradition with openness to new influences.
