Darwen kung fu school

Welcome to the Darwen Kung Fu Academy, a cherished institution in our quaint Lancashire community for over four decades. Established in 1968 by Ron Cunliffe, a student of the esteemed late Master Derek Gordon from the White Cloud Society, our school has a rich heritage.

Initially rooted in a blend of karate, tai chi, hsing i, and ba gua, our curriculum has evolved significantly over the years. We now offer a diverse range of martial arts, including grappling, wing chun, western boxing, kickboxing, and weapons training, enriching our students' experiences.

In 1989, Sifu Ray Heeks joined the teaching team, working alongside Ron Cunliffe and James Taylor. Today, Master Ray Heeks leads the school, supported by Assistant Instructor Sifu Siân Garth. As a non-profit organization, we are committed to keeping our membership fees affordable for all.
