Kyoto Shotokan Karate Dojo

We are a traditional Shotokan Karate Dojo based in Bristol, United Kingdom (Est. 1996). We hold Karate classes several evenings per week at our dojo's based at Avonmouth Old Boys Rugby Club, Shirehampton and at St.Bedes Catholic College, Lawrence Weston. Karate is practiced by millions of people worldwide and is one of the most popular martial arts. At Kyoto we have a respected lineage with Hanshi Shiro Asano (9th Dan) and Soke Hirokazu Kanazawa (10th Dan), two of the early pioneers of Shotokan Karate that brought it to the United Kingdom in the 1960's, and affiliation to one of the largest karate organisations in the world - Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF). Students practice karate for a variety of reasons and all have different needs and abilities. Our team of instructors have many years experience training in and teaching karate and are here to help each individual get their most out of their karate training.
