Medieval Combat Group

The Medieval Combat Group is a Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) class based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. They provide classes, group lessons, and private tuition in 15th century medieval swordcraft and martial arts, including the longsword and messer. They also study staff, dagger, and sword & buckler, focusing on unarmoured swordfighting techniques found in medieval fencing manuals. The group uses modern protective equipment and training practices to stay safe while training and applying the techniques fully.
