Ryukyukan Matsuri Dojo Essex teaches traditional Okinawa Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo, blending fitness, self-defense, discipline, and confidence-building with authentic martial arts heritage. All instructors are fully qualified, and black belts are registered with the Okinawa Karatedo Shorinryu Ryukyukan Karate Kobudo Federation in Japan. The dojo emphasizes structured progress toward black belt excellence through attainable short-term goals, fostering resilience and respect. Students of all ages train in a supportive atmosphere, learning both traditional techniques and modern applications. The school also participates in Full Contact and Knockdown Karate, as part of the All Ryukyus Full Contact Karatedo Association, connecting members to international tournaments and seminars.
