JKG Karate

At JKG Karate, we pride ourselves on high standards, a fair grading system, and professional coaching. We teach Quality Shotokan Karate, a style that has helped our members achieve success in competitions and develop their physical and mental abilities. Our chief instructor, Sensei John Gardiner, is a British Champion and has had a successful competitive career. He has also worked with schools in the Southend area to bring Karate lessons to children and teenagers with special educational needs and disabilities, and was awarded Active Essex's Southend Sport coach of the year runner up in 2015. Our instructors are fully certified, holding a minimum Level 1 instructor certificate, a minimum of 1st Dan black belt, and over 10 years of Karate experience. We also offer a SEN and Disability Karate class in Westcliff-on-sea, with a tailored teaching method and grading syllabus.
