Sumners Taekwon-Do

Sumners Taekwon-Do is a professional martial arts school offering classes in Barnwood (Gloucester) and Knowle (Solihull), welcoming students of all ages for fun, fitness, and self-defence. Founded in 1997 by Mr. Dirk Sumners, 5th Degree Black Belt and International Instructor, the club has grown to over 130 black belts and boasts an impressive record of champions at world, European, and national levels. With nearly 30 years of teaching experience, Mr. Sumners is a qualified instructor, umpire, referee, and first-aid officer, fully DBS checked and insured. Programs include the Little Dragons syllabus for 5-year-olds, the Rainbow syllabus for ages 6–10, and the full GTUK ITF Taekwon-Do syllabus for older students, covering traditional patterns, sparring, self-defence, and power breaking. Classes emphasize traditional morals, ethics, and discipline, with regular grading tests and no contracts or joining fees.
