The Shotokan Traditional Karate Organisation (SHOTO) is a professional karate organisation that teaches traditional Shotokan karate. Founded in 1996 by Hanshi Mick Randall MBE 10th Dan, SHOTO has a direct lineage from Hanshi Gichin Funakoshi 10th Dan to Hanshi Hirokazu Kanazawa 10th Dan to Hanshi Mick Randall MBE 10th Dan. The organisation promotes structured progression with the 3 Ks: Kihon (basic techniques), Kata (pre-arranged forms), and Kumite (sparring). SHOTO offers karate classes for adults and children, with a focus on traditional Shotokan karate and self-defence. The organisation has a strong emphasis on child protection and has a child protection policy in place. SHOTO is affiliated with the English Karate Federation (EKF) and has DBS-checked and insured instructors.
