Peter May Karate Club

Shotokan Karate England (SKE) has been teaching traditional Shotokan Karate since 1985, with clubs across North East London and the South of England. Founded at Chingford Karate Club, SKE now offers classes for children and adults of all levels, from beginners to advanced black belts. Led by Chief Instructor Sensei Rod Butler, 7th Dan, with over 50 years of experience and direct training under the legendary Sensei Enoeda, the association maintains the highest standards of instruction. More than 400 students have achieved black belt through SKE, with many gaining national and international success. Regular gradings, courses with top international instructors, and a strong safeguarding framework ensure safe, high‑quality training. SKE is recognised for its excellence both on the mats and in wider culture, having featured in film, TV, and publications, while continuing to uphold the spirit and discipline of Shotokan Karate.
