Seishinkan Dojo - Iaido and Jodo

Seishinkan Dojo is an Iaido and Jodo dojo dedicated to teaching these martial arts. Iaido is the art of drawing a Japanese sword, developed to gain an advantage in combat against opponents before they could draw their swords. The techniques at the beginner level include Nukitsuke (horizontal cut), Kiritsuke (vertical cut), Chiburi (shaking the blood from the sword), and Noto (sheathing the sword). The style practiced at Seishinkan is Muso Shinden Ryu. Jodo, known as the way of the stick, involves paired practice with one person using a Tachi (sword) and another with a Jo (stick), with the style practiced being Shindo Muso Ryu. Advanced students may also learn to use other weapons.
