Welcome to Edinburgh Kempo.com, the webpage of Edinburgh City Shorinji Kempo Club. This site is for anyone interested in learning the Japanese martial art of Shorinji Kempo. Shorinji Kempo is a modern martial art that was created in post-WW2 Japan. It has its roots in Shaolin Kung Fu and Buddhist Philosophy. Shorinji Kempo combines 'hard' techniques such as kicks, punches and blocks with 'soft' techniques (releases and throws), meditation, philosophy and acupressure massage.
