Shin Bu Kan Guildford

Welcome to Shin Bu Kan Guildford. We are part of an international family of dojos that practice Musō Shinden Ryū Iaido and Seitei Iai. Shin Bu Kan was founded by Sensei Victor Cook, 7th Dan Kyoshi, in 1979. The Guildford club was started in 2008. Iaido is a Japanese martial art or budo, usually translated as 'the way of drawing the sword and cutting', although 'the way of being prepared' is more accurate. The forms we practice are mostly solo kata using a Japanese sword. We train in the village of Normandy, a few miles west of Guildford, Surrey.
